Paintblog – May Miscellany

So, what with this and that, I’ve not po0sted anything for a month.  So let’s look at a couple of one-shots.

These were all done on the spur of the moment, generally in a single session.  Hence there aren’t any “before and after” shots.

This one was done with a bunch of leftover blue.  For some reason, I call it “The Lovers.”  I can’t think of any way that I could add to it, so that one is basically done.

This one was done in a couple of minutes while I was on the phone.  Again, it’s just using up paint that was still on the palette.

Yeah, it’s totally that dark.  It looks better in real life.  Oh, and truth in advertising–I added the foreground boulder later.  This one may or may not be finished; I dunno.  Right now I can’t think of anything to do with it, but it doesn’t say “I’m finished” either.

This one is also not quite done.

It doesn’t have a title.  It used to be almost entirely different; alas this is the only photo I have of it’s “before” state and as you can see, I’d already started adding to it.

Specifically, the sky-sweep and the peach mountain were added.

While the overall shape of the work is similar to the old one, almost every bit of paint has been replaced.  Even the dark green in the water has been gone over; I think the only remaining bits are some of the green in the mountains.

The “Delegates” picture is almost done–it’s very, very close.  And the “bunch of apples” picture is also getting some work done.  Those will be updates in a future posting.  In the meantime, thanks for visiting.
